Hello all!

I looked over the forum and was wondering if anyone knows what the replacement headlights for the Rondo are? I looked in the manual and the online workshop manual - as far as I can tell, it's not listed.

My best guess is, it's 9005/9006 combo.

I think the car would look great with superwhite headlights!

Comments?

Your right, I double checked the owners manual and the workshop manual and the best you can find out is that the headlights are 55 watts. I even went out to the car, took the back cap off to see if I could see any numbers but no luck. The left headlight bulb looks like you have to take the battery out to get to it, right ones a little easier.

deal_addict; I replaced my PT Cruiser headlights with Sylvania Super White and they looked great, but when I had my fogs on, the fogs looked yellow in comparison. You have the EX so you probably have the fog lights. Be prepared to change those lights out also.

I've been looking around - still no definitive info. I'd hate to pull apart my headlight assembly just to find the bulb model but I might have to.

Comparing with other Hyundai and Kia models (Sonata & Magentis), they both use H7 for low beams and H1 for high beams, both 55W. I'm thinking that's probably the lights.

In regards to changing your foglights, it does look nicer in white but everyone should keep in mind why stock lights have a yellow tint. Yellow is apparently the shortest wavelength and has the best penetration - which is what you want in foggy weather. White beams will reflect off the white fog and you'll be driving semi-blind. I don't have my fog lights on all the time so I think I'll keep them stock.

It looks like you are correct. I am ordering in the proper Rondo Bulbs today as I really should keep a set in stock for warranty purposes any how.

My initial assessment from the catalogue is that it looks like you are correct, the low beam appears to be a H1 55W and the high beam looks like a H7.

I will come back and repost once I have the parts in stock.

My local UK parts specialist doesn't like the new superwhite bulbs, his pro opinion is to use top quality "Hella" bulbs for best results. On my last car (Peug 406) I tried these, the difference to a "cheaper part" was very noticeable & I do a lot of night driving!

I wish they would make a 75w H1 legal for dipped beam work, it would be a lot safer!

Yeah, it's stamped H7 and H11b. I guess it depends on where the car is sold. In Canada, the low beam projector lights are H11b. I'm having a hard time finding these lights - seem pretty rare. I could only find a reference to them on Osram Sylvania's website.

Why change the lights? The stock lights look good but everything has a slight yellow tint to them. The white lights really brighten up your drive. They also make your ride less dated (halogen's go more yellow with age and it's recommended to change them regularly) and more like the HID lights found on more expensive rides.

Hi , just had a driving light go on me and tried to change it . Struggled getting the cap off ( UK passenger side) dropped it into the front wing void , struggled taking the wire restraint off the rear of the bulb , fidddled the bulb out and, the car shop ( Halfords UK) gave me the wrong bulbs , I bought the 90% better beam as well. It has been quite a job so far- had to take the electronic plug thing off its mount to access the rear of the light cluster- there are some messages on the kia forum about how hard it is to replace these bulbs , but nothing on the Rondo/Carens. Has anyone got any tips to replace them without losing half the skin on your hands to the metal work around the cluster? I'm back at the shop tomorrow to get the right ones ,I bet you can only get them from KIA here and they will be expensive!

yes, in order to replace any bulb in the headlight assembly you have to ... remove it from the car.
simply unscrew two long screws and disconnect the power supply and replace all bulbs you need.
there is no room to fit your hand. for high beam you may try, but any ANY other - you HAVE to remove the headlight.

I did it and its easiest way.

This morning , in the daylight , I have changed both bulbs. Yes you are right it is much easier to take the headlight out , but I still lost the drivers side ( UK) cover down the wing again! - didn't disconnect the power lead.
One thing I will advise is that you lay a rubber mat under the headlight so that it doesn't scratch the front bumper .
Both changed now to High Energy driving lamps , H7. :)

Lucky you...
You have H7 while Rondo is equipped with H11B. There is nothing else than regular H11B.
If you mod the socket a little bit you can fit H11.

 Does anybody know if a headliht upgrade will get rid of the cutoff line the lights have. Everyone that goes for a ride comments on it. No matter how low or high you put your head the line is still there.
projectors have this kind of cut off and there is NOTHING what you can do with that.
I think this is very good cut off, since this type of light does not blind other drivers (as long as adjusted correctly)
